BALDWIN WILSON - 360Brake
Posted: November 09, 2007
Baldwin -Wilson, manufacturers of the 360brake has gone through some management changes. New management is in place. These changes have happened over the last several months. There is some information being posted on various internet sites. Some of this information may include rumors and uncertain "facts". We are waiting for updated information from Baldwin Wilson.

A few things:

1. they have stopped producing the current brake in order to focus on the next generation unit.

2. They have developed a new generation brake with higher performance parameters. The new brake is currently being tested by Baldwin Wilson.

3. Once the new brake is tested and we are informed of the results, we will post updates on our site with as much information as is available to us.

4. If you have any questions about your current brake or their corporate transition, you can contact us or Baldwin Wilson directly at 317-852-7867.

Daytona Beach
Posted: March 21, 2007
We traveled to Daytona Beach for Bike Week. Had a chance to catch the Purrfect Angelz (http://www.purrfectangelz.com ). Lisa, Maggie, and the rest of the Angelz put on a great show! Also watched as Russell Mitchell built a bike for John Mellecamp while being filmed for TLC. They used gunsmith blueing oil on the frame to give it a different appearance. For some reason they lit the frame on fire before they applied the oil???
Did notice a greater attendance of sport bikes at this event. Saw a wacky 3 wheeled Busa with 32´s on the back? Huh?
It was good to see old friends and make new ones! Till next time!

We are Dealers for the new 360BRAKE system !
Posted: March 02, 2007
After many discussions with the designer and inspecting a several of their brakes we have decided to become a dealer for their brake system. ( http://www.360brake.com/ )

From their site:

IT’S A THING OF BEAUTY

· It looks like you’re riding with no brake at all.

· Let’s you show off your expensive wheels.

IT’S DESIGNED FOR YOUR BIKE

· The unit is designed for 1” axles, (bushing is sold separately for ¾” axles).

· They work with standard master cylinders and brake lines (longer lines may be required to reach the brake; the 360 caliper is closer to the axle than a typical caliper).

· The rotor hats and calipers are made of 2024 polished aluminum (now available polished or in chrome)

o It cleans up easily.

o It looks great next to chrome

IT’S ENGINEERED FOR POWER

· Instead of pinching the rotor at one point like a typical brake, our brake pads surround the rotor on both sides, the full 360 degrees, creating considerably more braking force in a substantially smaller space.

· The rotors are cast iron for maximum grip.

· The friction pad material is a semi metallic compound for better grip and less noise.

· The brake pads life expectancy should be about the same as a standard brake pad.

IT’S OUT PERFORMING THE COMPETITION

· In 60 mph to 0 stop tests, our brake is consistently stopping 2 full motorcycle lengths sooner than industry leading manufacturer’s brakes. In addition to the dramatic stopping distance reduction, in consecutive 60 mph to 0 mph hot stops, our brake also has the ability to last longer before fading due to heat.

· With a conventional single rotor you get pull to either the left or right depending on the side it is on (gyroscopic effect). With our brake pressure is applied evenly all the way around the axle and nearly eliminates this gyroscopic push.

o This allows you to brake straighter, longer and harder without losing control.

o It also reduces the risk of going into a “tank slap” from over correction to the brake pull.

· Instead of lifting all the weight off the back tire, due to the shift of bike weight common in current braking systems, the 360 Brake creates more down force and keeps better traction on the road. (In the typical brake set-up, the position of the caliper and distance from the axle center of rotation actually creates a “lever arm” affect that causes the feeling of being catapulted over the handle bars when the brakes are applied quickly, as in a panic stop.)

o Instead of the typical 80-20, or 90-10 braking, our brake is more like 60-40 front- to-rear, because of this dramatically reduced weight shift.

o This also allows you to brake harder with the rear brake and still maintain contact with the road, with less skidding.

o This is proven with a rider on the back of the bike. Just by tapping a conventional brake you slam the passenger into you and can lose control of the bike just from that force. While braking with our brake the passenger will slide forward, butt first, and not slam into your shoulders and arms keeping you in better control of the bike.

· This braking system brakes much smoother and a lot less violently than the standard rotor and caliper systems.

o It has been described as, “Braking into a cloud.”

o It feels like you’re not braking at all, and the next thing you know you’re stopped.

IT’S IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN

· For more than 50 years, there have been no significant changes in the brake industry

· We believe that the 360 Brake will revolutionize the brake industry with it’s unique design, and outstanding performance characteristics.

Please call us for a better performing brake system!
